We got the chance to test a good sampling of the new skis from David Mazzarella's ("Mazz") new venture called SkiLogik.  We tested the Go Girl, Rave, Ullr's Chariot and one rockered model - the Howitzer, and came away impressed with this first-release collection.  There is still some flex tuning to be done in some models (which Mazz acknowledges and new versions are being pressed as of March 2010), and some are right-on.  Beautiful hand-made, wooden marquetry topsheets, rock-solid construction and workmanship and reasonable pricing.  David was previously the business and production side of Scotty Bob skis, endured the migration of Scotty Bob production to China under K2's management, and subsequently parted ways to start his own custom-built, personally designed production shop in China where he pays his workers above-average wages and benefits to produce truly distinctive skis with a huge amount of hand craftsmanship at decent prices.  David states his company probably puts in more labor into each pair of skis than any other company, and choosing a low-cost production location allows him to pursue the highest level of his craft he can achieve. We think Mazz has a very interesting lineup and business model.  It's is really his first year of public release of skis, and so far...it has people talking.
