We just learned that the ski industry lost a legend in June, 2012. 

Aldo Kuonen was one of the most respected and inspirational ski designers and builders over the last 15 years.  His "AK" brand of Swiss skis generated universal praise from nearly every enthusiast who tried his handcrafted works of art.  AK skis developed a reputation as being one of the benchmarks in modern, European carving designs, built with the highest quality materials and a dedication to passionate craftsmanship to produce World-class performance.  Rumors abound about AK skis being the first choice of many WorldCup racers on their days off and their daily drivers after they retire.  That's what you get when a man addicted to restoring old Porches gets passionate about building World-class Swiss skis!

Aldo was one of the stars of the modern movement of independent ski brands dedicated to perfection and ultimate quality, producing skis highly prized and sought after by a highly devoted collection of civilian and professional skiers around the World.  Last summer, we lost a legend, but his son and daughter, Francesca and Marco Kuonen are continuing the business and have announced they will preserve their Father's passion and pursuit of perfection in their family's line of skis.
