How NOT To Run A Ski Company: Revision Skis

The ski business is like any other business (unfortunately)...and sometimes a company chooses the wrong course of action when a bad situation rears its ugly head.  Such was the case of Bill Wanooroy's Revision Skis which went dark after failing to supply customers with skis...some of whom paid their money and never received the product or a refund.  To make matters worse, a large inventory of Revision Skis appeared on Skis.com at a steep discount during and after the fiasco, making angry customers even more livid.

We reviewed skis from Revision as well as Bill Wanooroy's previous company, EpicPlanks...so we thought Revision might stick around with its support for athletes, rock-bottom prices on energetic skis and a growing following of skiers...but alas...it was not to be....  We liked Bill's vision and his persistence to deliver interesting, different kinds of skis to skiers...but something went wrong and Revision angered its followers and paying customers.

The investigative folks at NewSchoolers.com wrote a great article describing the situation and its history.  It makes for good reading.  Read it.  Every company out there should read it and learn the lessons well.
