Ski Test: Epic Planks Ripper 175cm 2012-2013

We've been riding the Ripper 175cm  from Bill Wanrooy's EpicPlanks for several weeks now in Vermont, and we have to say, Bill has created one of the stoutest, strongest all-terrain skis we have found in a long time.  The Rippers are capable of laying down some serious power and tenacious grip in  a high-powered chassis with a rockered forebody, cambered waist and flat tail for hard-chargers out there.  This is not a fluffy, surfy all-mountain ski, but a high-performance, stiff-bodied design for athletic skiers.  The harder you ski it, the more it delivers.  Just don't expect a comfy couch underfoot.  It begs to be driven and rewards a strong technique delivered by a well-trained pilot.  The Ripper is a unique ski in a crowded market and will make a unique segment of skiers very happy.  Top-shelf quality and materials throughout, in a package well finished and nicely assembled.  Confidence-inspring and secure underfoot in tight situations, especially if you keep the pedal to the metal.  See the detailed ExoticSkis.com review of the EpicPlanks Ripper here.

Industry professionals can visit EpicPlanks at  SIA Booth #4243 in Denver January 31-Feb 3 2013. (not open to the general public)
