Probably defunct in 2009. Website no longer exists....no word about them anywhere...Rest in peace......

Created by Greg Funk in Pemberton, Canada since around 2005, (they like 'em WIDE) 110mm-162mm underfoot. Custom work and graphics if you want. Plenty of great softsnow models with different geometries to choose from. $1000-$1250 CAD. Maple/Ash or Maple/Aspen cores. Loyal following of users.  For 2008 they came out with innovations such as:

"The most progressive ski yet, brought to you by the fine folks at Capital. Featuring sidecut under foot, reverse cut in the front end and in the rear, a low camber throughout and long drawn out powder tips and tails. Built to be playful and loose feeling but still able to lay down a carve on a groomer and stomp a cliff at speed. Low taper in the main body makes for a balanced ski well suited to trickery and switching it up, but the taper in the tail end results in a ski that can still charge powder and big mountain terrain. - Designed by Greg Funk and Dave Treadway."

The father of Blade skis (website no longer working in April 2008) and Guicarflex race plates is Filippo Carpani who started with a new ski product line in 2008 called CARPANI. Handmade race, carving, all-mountain and freeride skis.  The "clubstradavarious.org" site related to Stradavarious skis lists Mr. Carpani as a "laboratory".

We received a comment that Filippo sold the "Blade Ski" trademark to his former Japanese distributor, then began his own line of Carpani skis.  Reportedly outstanding quality, with customization available on request.

Models in 2008-2009 site include a 117-73-120 "F1 Cross" and "F2 Racecarve"  in 175cm lengths, "F3 SL" racing model (112-65-96) in 155cm-165cm, "F4 GS" model (104-67-88) in 182-187cm, "F5 GS racing (FIS compliant)" model (95-66-?) in 182, 187 and 192cm, all composed of wood-core, titanal, triax fiberglass with nanospeed bases.  Of particular interest is the "inverse geometry" F5 GS with a tail wider than the shovel.  Prices rumored to be approximately €550 for the standard skis and €880 for the exclusive, wood-topsheet treatment models.

"Welcome to Carpathian Skis Company's little corner of the internet! The site needs some work, I am on it! We are a new ski manufacturer with base camps in Smithers, BC and Girdwood, Alaska. This is our second year in operation and things are going great. Last season was a real blast as I build and tested these skis in dynamic conditions. I basically sponsored myself as I travelled to my hometown in Alaska and competing in three world championship events. At the same time I sponsored my friends and we filmed a ski movie called 'North to Alaska.' HERE Right now I am plugging away in the shop filling orders and tweaking designs. Looking for the perfect big mountain rocket sled! Last year I was loving the Big Dippers with the zero camber/zero sidecut combo. Unbelievable in the pow and surprisingly bomber and nimble on the hard stuff considering the dimensions. 142tip-129tail. The tail just sets right into the snow and with no sidecut to pull you around, these things track like nothing else! I am working on a pair of 210cm long skis with the same dimensional concept, maybe just call them the Rocket Sleds?"

A tiny, passionate garage operation by the folks behind "Interesting Productions" with some 210cm fat skis ("Boss Ravens") and other big-mountain designs. Film maker too.

"Our company was set up in 1990. Our first workroom for snowboard's manufacturing was open in Trebic-Podklasteri two years later. Gradually we invested in machine equipment and bought three hydraulic presses. In 1995 we had to move in a new area in NUCLEA Trebic because of capacity inadequacy and invested in new equipment. Our copany transformed in Limited Company (Ltd.) in 2000. In the same year we bought a new building for our factory in area of BOPO company and moved there. We invested in new machines (presses, sander.) that year again.

Our factory occupy the area of 950 square metres. In these days we have 15 employees. Apart from production of snowboard we have started to produce less known products like wakeboards, kiteboards, SK8. Since 2004 we have produced special kind of ski - FREESKI as well.
We are the only company in all Europe who produces boards with special carbon surface.

Achievements:
2005 - 1st rank - World Championships in Snowboarding 2nd rank - World Championships in Sandboarding
2005 - Ski CHOC on Mount Everest - Pavel Trčala
2004 - 3rd rank SP FIS - Rosa Zipf
2003 - first downhill on snowboard the northern way from Mt. Everest"

Another great find in Eastern Europe...Funky graphics. Get your snowkite rigging here! "Kitteboards", wakeboards, skateboards, skiboards too! Triax laminate woodcore alpine ski construction with "nano" carbon bases. Really good prices...for example, their freeride ski "The Game" retails for 7,800 Czech "Koruny" (about €291 in November 2007)! Get two pairs and whomp 'em for that price. They seem to have two brands/manufacturers: "Choc" and "Trans." €729 will get you a snowkite wing, another €729 and you can get the rigging for it. Two year warranty. Wow. Funny, though...you can order skis and boards on-line...but no address or phone number is provided on their website...

Some comments from a fan site translated by Google:

"For the ski under the ERDINGERFreunden there is now a very special treat: the first ERDINGER Weissbier-ski. He comes from the village of Upper Wambach, where it to the ski specialist Sepp Loipführer manufactures. And although individually and in manual work - that this is something special Ski, understands itself, the passion for skis lies with the Loipführers in the family. Even the grandfather started in 1929 with the ski production. As Wagner champion who normally builds wheels and carriages, he knew how to turn a piece of wood ash a ski turn. His son Joseph made ahead and his own son inherited not only the name of Joseph (Sepp), but also for Skibauen hands. Sold were the good pieces in their own sports business under the brand name Loipführer, came with an extended range of other Ski brands. The mid-80s conquered a revolution from the USA the slopes: the snowboard. Sepp 1988 built a first copy for a Spezl, 1989 he has produced 100 pieces for the brand F2, a year later, a Swiss slalom world champion with a F2 Board of Sepps workshop. Then came finally movement in the ski market, the boards were shorter and fitted, the Carver era began. They were obviously Loipführer Sepp, a Funcarver with the name "Circle" developed - "Loipführer" he found for the sparkling, short skis simply too long. Behind the ERDINGER Weissbier-Ski is the model Circle Power Carve, a sporty, versatile ski with Slalomtaillierung. He is agile, especially spurstabil and laufruhig, even at high speed. And of course, he looks great! For solid wood, there is a skiing is no longer possible, since the 60s, modern materials such as aluminum, plastic and glass fiber is used. Nevertheless, the core of a wooden skis the A and O for Sepp Loipführer. No other material comes out of its properties, but the production is expensive and therefore expensive. Although it is not a modern ski is to hear a professional sound immediately on whether a wood core ski or not. "Ash wood is a wonderful," raves Sepp, it is tough, elastic, the ski flutters. Moreover poplar wood, which is very easy and well-mutes. But from the wooden board Sepp Loipführers piles in the garden (it exclusively processed wood from Upper Bavaria) skis for real rounder become, it needs a lot of know-how and lots of work steps. In fact, a ski like a sandwich from several layers up in the middle is the wood core. The material gets the best ski properties, for example, provide two layers of high strength aluminium alloy Titanal and glass fiber fabrics for torsional rigidity, the skiing is not twisted. The optical kick brings the printed film with lightly shimmering surface. In addition to the Power Carve include three other ski types to the program. A rarity is a hand-Loipführer ski in each case: Only about 400 children leave the rustic workshop in Wambach per year. When asked about the master carpenter Sepp, where he so knows exactly how a really good skiing is to be built, he answered "Yes mei, the halt is a matter of experience." Advantage of a small company like his is the direct contact with customers, advising him is important. From his experiences he Skitestern immediately, as a new model arrives, the road from development to production is short. On his skis he assembled in his view, best trap in the world and draws the conclusion: for the ski ERDINGER only the best!"

Some German websites mention Sepp Loipführer manufactures this ski himself, sold through the Loipfuerer ski shop. The family started making skis in 1929. Sometimes referred to as "Erdinger" skis.
